Wordpress add media issues
Any help here would be MUCH appreciated!
I’ve suddenly started having problems with the add media function on this blog installation. It used to work fine – click it, pop up window, upload file, etc and bingo, saved and appeared in post.
Now I click add picture / image and rather than a pop up it goes to completely new page, which is functional, but when I click insert image, it goes to a blank screen. I’ve got the latest flash / java and have reinstalled Wordpress 2.6. I want to try and go back to 2.5.1 but cannot find the file anywhere.
So, if anyone can help, I would be grateful, it is extremely annoying!

I don’t think you can go backwards in versions once you’ve upgraded the database.
Why not use ftp to upload media?
Hey Richard, thanks for the info – I think you could be right.
I use ecto as well, but it does not have the seo power of the WP posting and the plugins I have installed. I guess I use ecto to get the media there and then have to edit. Not ideal though.

I’m sure you solved your problem, but for the benefit of those you, like me, are having other problems with media upload and found this site in a search….I discovered that if I turn off the program, log out, then log back in, the great white screen problem goes away. I’ve had to do that several times in the last few weeks and am not happy about it.
I used to enjoy adding media to my site, but since the recent upgrade I have had nothing but problems. It’s taken the fun out of it, I must say!
Best wishes!
I said, “you” instead of “who” in the first line of my comment. That isn’t an indicator of my intelligence or lack of it. Honest.

Hey Tina!
Thanks for posting – I just tried and it doesn’t seem to have fixed itself and that is with the very latest version. Very annoying
I’m using Marsedit at the moment as an editor and it works very well indeed.
Hope this helps: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/197027?replies=11#post-832811
