I saw this in the week and GCal has just flashed at me to blog it so here I am!

Great news for people in Birmingham and also Brighton, you have some Apple stores on the way! Birmingham already has one at the Bullring. I wonder if we might get one in Hull? ;-) Very unlikely but you never know. I just don’t think that demographic is right for Macs. The shops that do well here are the likes of Primark and anything to do with shocking gold “creole” earrings and tanning. Going into Hull at the weekend brings the prospect of very little choice of shopping or eating. Most people with any sort of taste tend to go to Leeds or York which is a real shame. There are a couple of gems on Saville Street - namely Groovy Boutique, which sells some great 70’s inspired clothes and street wear. Not really my sort of thing (I’m more Thomas Pink and Howies) ;-) but the students and teens love it.

In fact, I tend to do most of my clothes shopping in one of two ways - via the net, or when I am in London. Actually there is a third, when I’m in the US. It disgusts me how we get completely ripped off here. Why do we have to put up with such expensive prices? Some good examples of this are the prices of Apple computers, where savings up to £2-300 can be had and also clothes like Ralph Lauren etc. No wonder short breaks to NY are so popular as the cost of the airfare is essentially free when you look at the savings to be gained.
