TeuxDeux – simple, elegant todo lists

I’m admittedly a bit of a webapp fiend. I love trying new apps out, whether for twitter, shortlinks, or mostly productivity and project management.

TeuxDeux is something that has just launched and is rather slick.

TeuxDeux Demo from TeuxDeux on Vimeo.

It has the essential elements that will accelerate its growth and mean that people will at the least try it:

1. Free
2. Demo video
3. Nice simple and effective website
4. Thumbs up from Seth Godin
5. Great UI
6. Doesn’t need much explaining

I’m reviewing what I use for this kind of thing, and having tried most, (Google Tasks, RTM etc) am settling down to make more use of the 37signals offerings. I’d be interested to know what you use…. anything that I may have missed?

I’ve tried pretty much every web-based and Mac desktop-based personal task management app there is (or ever was!).

My search for the holy grail stopped with Things by Cultured Code, which I’ve been using solidly for well over 2 years now. It’s fast, I can sync it to the iPhone, I can bang brainstormed thoughts in there like there’s no tomorrow. No web-based app has ever been fast enough or powerful enough.

Teux Deux initially looks good, but for me it gets task management totally back-to-front. Trying to manage to-dos by days of the week seems like you could soon become disappointed pretty quickly, spending all your time constantly re-arranging and managing tasks. Isn’t a calendar the right tool for day-specific tasks?

    Good find though Jon!

Phew, that was a long comment…

    Hey Dave,

I’m toying with Things too, having bought both the desktop app and iPhone app a good while ago.

Due to my reliance, and great experience with Basecamp etc, I feel I need to keep projects / todos etc in one place.

    We will see!

    Jon :-)

If you’d like a tool for managing your time and projects, you can use this application inspired by David Allen’s GTD:

    http://www.Gtdagenda.com

You can use it to manage and prioritize your goals, projects and tasks, set next actions and contexts, use checklists, schedules and a calendar.
A mobile version is available too.
