iPhone4. This changes everything. Again.
Wow.
Excellent ad from The Sun
Well, for once, The Sun produces something worth mentioning! A great send up of the Apple ads
So, the iPhone is coming to Orange…
Yesterday I was a guest on William Wright’s tech slot on BBC Radio Lincs and we talked about the big news of Orange getting the iPhone as well as O2. Have a listen below:

And now Vodafone! So yesterday Orange, and today Vodafone – finally, choice! The Guardian has a good post on it here, and says:
But under its new deal Vodafone will not have to pass any ongoing revenues over to Apple. Neither will Orange under the deal it has signed. As a result, both companies will have far greater pricing flexibility which should lead to reduced prices for customers, though they will still have to sign up to a long-term contract.
That sounds fine to me
The BBC cover the news here, and remind us about O2 having new exclusivity for Palm’s Pre, apparently an “iPhone killer”.
That to me just does not ring true. Why? How about this for starters: (from a press release from Apple yesterday)
CUPERTINO, California—September 28, 2009—Apple® today announced that more than two billion apps have been downloaded from its revolutionary App Store, the largest applications store in the world. There are now more than 85,000 apps available to the more than 50 million iPhone™ and iPod touch® customers worldwide and over 125,000 developers in Apple’s iPhone Developer Program.
Pretty impressive eh?
Neural Interface coming to iPhone
Well, who knows what they have planned!

iPhone 3.0 Software coming

Just breaking, is the news, that there will be an Apple Event on March 17th!
We just got the announcement, iPhone OS 3.0 is coming. Set your clocks, mark your calendars. It’s going down March 17th. Apparently, we’ll get a sneak peak at the new OS, as well as a look at a brand new version of the SDK. Exciting stuff indeed, and we’ll be there live at 10am PST (1pm EST) with the liveblog. Apple’s calling this an “advance preview of what we’re building,” so we’re not expecting anything ready to go as of the 17th, but hopefully this will allow developers to start building toward future functionality (hey, how about some push notifications?), and presumably users won’t have too many months to wait after that for the real deal.
Interesting… I wonder whether there will be any BIG UI changes? I’m guessing not, and hoping that they will be adding MMS and copy and paste at the very least. Launch of a Google Latitude App would also be nice.
What would you like to see?!
New iPhone 2.0.1 Software Released

Well this is looking very hopeful! The actual navigation and user interface seem much snappier and I don’t seem to be getting the dreadful lag which spoiled the whole experience.
Looks like they have done a good job. Now I need to go and try the GPS and see if I can get that to work! There’s also a new version of the WordPress App, so I’ll be interested to see what features they have added, if any.
