Tablet Edition and Wordpress iPhone App

Well, what do you know! I am away from the Mac for the day and come back to find it all going off!

Tablets Galore!

Techcrunch IT have just announced they are developing an internet tablet:

Today at Techcrunch we announced that we are building our own web tablet hardware device. This all stems back from a conversation a few weeks ago when we were discussing the ultimate web browsing/cloud computing client hardware. The iPhone is nice but too small, and most laptops are over-powered for the task. With applications on the web most of us just need a web browser most of the time, so the ideal device would be a light-weight small tablet running nothing more than Firefox on a decent screen and with a WiFi connection.

And then, here comes the big Apple with the rumour that they are going to be launching something in October! Gizmodo have the low down here and here is one of those lovely mock ups below, of what is may look like!

Ok, it looks great, but I really do need a keyboard, which is why the MacBook Air is getting VERY tempting :-)

UPDATE – Michael Arrington on Techcrunch has some more details here – makes a LOAD of sense and I really hope something happens here.

Wordpress on the iPhone

The Wordpress app is now live and available free from the App Store – it certainly looks good and is a great start to the Wordpress and iPhone development. I really like the way the camera integrates with the posts, although most people (me included) are probably just posting to flickr via email and having flickr automatically put it on the blog.

It’s been a busy day, so I would like to write a little more about the Tablets and the Wordpress app, but work must be done! The good news is that today I met some people who were exactly on my page – people who love the web and using the web for marketing. Some exciting plans for the future are unfolding! :-)
