Scary food investigation at Tescos and Sainsburys

If you can, do watch a programme tonight on BBC1 at 9pm. The BBC news site has a report here too. It is looking into the frightening practices of supermarkets with our food. The food we buy. The food which allows them to have record profits. The food which entices millions of people into these hell holes. It’s about time that people realise that there is choice when buying food - use someone local, preferably organic and you not only get amazing quality, but support local businesses too. Now that is an easy choice.
We tend to use Waitrose, partly for theie excellent quality, partly for convenience (very close to us) and also for the fact it is generally quiet (I hear you saying that’s because it’s so damn expensive!)
It is pricy but like most things, you get what you pay for. What do you think then? Local, probably pricier alternatives or will you stick with the big supermarkets?
