O2 struggling to keep site live with iPhone 3G demand
July 7, 2008 · Filed Under Apple stuff
This is about all you will get if you are trying to upgrade to the new 3G iPhone this morning. After a text from O2, I logged on and have been treated to a maintenance sign, an unresponsive site and errors.
I have a feeling their servers (or possibly server) are a tad overwhelmed!

How annoyed am I!
The site comes back up with no 16gb phones left, like they weren’t going to be the most popular version.
You know I never had this problem with windows mobile phones, and I’m a little tiered of the poor handling of o2 and carphone warehouse and dare I say apple.
Why you cant do the same in store and pre order? why it has to be on line is beyond me, I’m seriously reconsidering if I’m going to bother at all, I might even wait a few weeks and get unlocked or pay as you go version, or wait for the 32g that probably around the corner.
Apple and o2 in the naughty corner!
At least you have accessed the site!
No such luck for me yet. How annoying. A very poor customer experience, and not what Apple needs to be associated with.
