30 Year Anniversary of Star Wars

My fave film of all time?? Yep, probably Star Wars. How many times have I seen it? Probably 25 + (at a conservative estimate!) :-)
Today marks the 30th anniversary of one of the greatest films of all time. May 25th 1977, and cinema goers suddenly realised what an a sci-fi adventure should look like. I am pretty sure that Dad took me to see it and I was only 6 at the time.

There are many events going on to celebrate the anniversary, and one particular story from a website (cannot remember which one though, doh) took my interest. It was looking at the merchandise of the Star Wars films. My good friend Ross had a pretty good collection of figures and models. Nowadays, if you have any of the original toys etc, especially if they are mint, in the packaging, well, you are onto a good thing. The story I read online had this picture below:

Can you believe these are worth $20,000! Amazing.

So, Happy Birthday Star Wars, you deserve a wonderful celebration. Now all I want is Star Wars in HD!! :-)
