Following on from my Radio Lincolnshire Interview, William Wright, the host, kindly passed on my details to Radio Humberside, and so at 7.50am on Wednesday morning, I found myself in the studio at BBC Hull, along with Tim Johns, the producer, and Phil White the host. Many thanks for Tim and Phil for having me on the show – it was a great opportunity to talk about all the exciting stuff going on over at Hull Digital and alternative broadband solutions in the Hull area.

By the power of twitter!!! :-)

Having twittered that I was going to be meeting Steve Jagger from Quickline Communications to test a Wimax signal, I was surprised and pleased to get a tweet from @mrwilliam, the BBC Radio Lincolnshire’s drive time host!

Luckily I saw this, tweeted back by mobile number and 20 minutes later was being interviewed about broadband alternatives in Hull and Hull Digital! Even better, my good friend Jaan managed to record it, so here you go, the first Hull Digital Podcast featuring me on BBC Radio :)

Brand your cloud

Andreas and Jaan have a great post going on over at noded here. It is talking about a problem and a solution.

The problem: we’re using more and more webapps for ourselves, but critically with clients too. (I use Basecamp with most of mine). The online apps are all branded differently and you lose the continuity with your brand.

The solution: using an Open Brand protocol, (similar to OpenId), you could “brand” your web apps, and this would happen automatically maintaining the consistency.

This really makes a load of sense to me, so head on over and let them know what you think.

howies makes t-shirts

It’s been one helluva’ week. But, a smashing one – new clients, great projects, London, a haircut, a server disaster, telecons to Sweden and some great food.

Which hasn’t left much time for blogging. Fingers crossed for a little more time next week :)

To end the most excellent week, check out howies and their t-shirts…

Sorry for the downtime folks, we had a little bit of a server emergency!
Now back in business and on a much more robust dedicated setup. MASSIVE thanks to Chris and Mike for sorting it all out :)
